Have you ever noticed how we keep polishing the outside? The clever replies, the perfect profiles, the next promotion, hoping that it will finally tell us that we're enough. It's exhausting, isn't it? So what if your worth isn't something that you chase, but something that you've already been given? I'm robots of pain and this is the Battle Drill Daily devotional here to help you start your day spiritually strong with a quick, powerful devotional from God's Word. A few years ago, I was called into the partners office to be told, we're letting you go. Now, at this point, I was already beginning to explore full time ministry in the Salvation Army, but still my mind went straight into panic mode. Who am I without this job? But at some point I came across First John chapter five and verse one, and these words eventually settled me. Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. Become not trying to earn the part, but already cast. Now, John isn't giving us a pep talk. He's announcing a done deal. The moment that you say yes to Jesus, Heaven files the paperwork. Last name? God. Status? No extra credit required. The treadmill slows because the race is already run. One from the inside out. Identity. First behavior, second. See, grace reverses the order that we used to do more, get more then unrest. God hands out rest first and then the doing gets healthier. Now we equate meat with being a doormat, but biblical meekness is a stallion on a loose rein. Power under control because the rider is trustworthy. Think Moses before Pharaoh. Voice calm, staff in hand. Heart pounding, but steady. He could afford humility because he was already friend of God. When you know whose child you are, you don't have to roll to prove it. You can whisper and still watch the seas split. Try it tomorrow when the group chat grows dark or the cereal hits the laptop. Pause and whisper. I'm a child of God now. There's nothing magic in the woods. But everything shifts in the remembering. You're not defending a title. You're resting in a birthright. Meekness shows up as patience when you usually explode. It turns up as listening when you'd normally lecture. It turns up as laughing at yourself when you typically typically spiral commutes, meetings, DMs. Each is a sandpit to practice in. Your boss claims your good idea. You're safe enough to smile and move on. Promotion comes from the Lord. Your friend cancels on your A-game. You're secure enough to assume the best. Rejection doesn't rewrite your CV. Suddenly, every time that you choose meek over macho, you're not losing. You're revealing the family likeness. The world reads peace as weakness until it keeps showing up. Unshaken. Now, if this message rerouted your heart, share it so that another tired friend can step off the treadmill too. And drop. I'm a child of God in the comments to preach it to yourself and every scroller who needs the reminder. Remember the next time that life swipes your ID badge. Let first John chapter five, verse one speak louder than the redundancy, louder than the breakup, louder than the failure. You are not who your CV says you are. You're not who your critics say you're not. Even who your mirror says on its grouchy days. You are who God says you are, child and beloved. That identity doesn't unlock with effort. It unlocks with belief. So rest in it. Walk in it. Smile in it. And when the world expects you to flex your muscles. Surprise them with meekness. Quiet, confident and unbreakable. God bless you.
