You know, sometimes I hear people say, I give Jesus my Sunday mornings, and I wonder what he does with the other six and a half days in the week. Mondays credit card swipe. The 2 a.m. worry spiral. The playlist that we hope no one scrolling past the five year plan that we keep editing. You see, Jesus isn't looking for one neat compartment of our lives. He's asking for the whole house. Hi and welcome to Battle Drill Daily Devotional. I'm Robert Spain, and today we're thinking about what it actually means to go all in for Jesus. Once the worship music fades and the rest of the week shows up. So let's jump in if we're honest. Most of us treat discipleship a bit like a cafeteria line. We pick the comforting bits and we dodge anything that smells like boiled sprouts. Well, Luke chapter 14, verse 33 is the boiled sprouts. You cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own. Jesus said that and he meant it. So let's walk gently and honestly through three everyday places where surrender is either proved or politely sustained. Number one is our daily habits. Now here's where it feels least spiritual, doesn't it? The alarm clock, the endless scroll. The second helping total surrender isn't a feeling that shows up when we're in the mood. It's a calendar entry. If the first ten minutes of my day belongs to reals before I even speak to God, then I've already answered, who's Lord of the morning? So try this instead. Before you unlock your phone, unlock your heart. A simple whisper guide. I'm yours today. Resets the default from self to savior. It's that simple. Yes. But in today's economy, small is often the new big. Number two is your secret thoughts? If we're honest, the back row of the mind is pretty crowded. The compliment we replay because we're starving for approval. The insult we replay because we can't forgive that person. The risk that we replay because fear keeps shouting louder than our faith. Jesus asks us for the remote. Surrendering thoughts can feel like handing over keys to a dented car. But he's the best mechanic that will ever meet. So when a thought pops up, ask it two questions. Is this making me more like Jesus, or is it making me more like me? And then handed out over out loud. If you need to. I give you this anger, Lord. This fear, this envy. Replace it with whatever pleases you. Audible surrender is Kryptonite to silent rebellion. And number three, our biggest decisions. Whether it's career moves, dating apps, lease signings, baby names, whatever big moments expose who's really staring. Count the cost. Like Jesus says. What's the worst case scenario? If I follow him fully here? If the answer is I could lose money or status or comfort, then he is still worth it. History's happiest people aren't the ones who kept everything. They're the ones who held nothing back. So write the thing that you're most afraid of. Loose on a card. Then underneath, scribble. But if not, I will not. Keep it where you'll see it. That's the Shadrack clause. Surrender with insurance against idolatry of the outcome. So let me ask you, what's one area in your life habit, thought, or decision that you'll still keeping back from Jesus? Why not name it in the comments so that we can all pray for you? And if these daily devotionals are helping you, then hit subscribe for daily encouragement. Going all in isn't a single dramatic leap. It's a daily death by a thousand surrenders. But here's the twist. Every time we let go, we don't lose. We gain more of Jesus. Which is another way of saying that we gain everything that actually lasts. So on Monday morning, when the alarm sounds, try whispering, God, I give you my everything again. He's not asking you for perfection. He's asking you for permission. Give it and watch what a Savior does with a life that has no emergency exits. Let's pray. Lord, we know surrender can feel scary, but we also know that you're trustworthy. So show us one place today where we're holding back and help us to hand it over. Fill our hearts with your peace as we choose you. In Jesus name, Amen. I hope to see you again on the Battle Drill Daily devotional. But in the meantime, my God richly bless you. Thanks so much for watching Battle Royale Daily Devotional.
