The Temptation That Doesn't Knock: It Slips In Quietly

Some temptations don't crash in through the front door. They slip in quietly through the back.
A glance. A thought. A quiet "what if". That's how it began for David, and that's often how it begins for us.
In today's five-minute devotional we look at 2 Samuel 11:2-3 and the moment David didn't look away. Desire itself isn't wrong - God gave it to us for intimacy, connection and beauty. But when we stop guarding our hearts, it turns inward and starts to twist. The good news is this: David fell, but he also returned. He confessed, he humbled himself, and God restored him. Grace is stronger than shame.
You are not your worst choice. You are not the sin you thought would define you. You are his child, made for more.
Today's question to sit with: Where might I be letting desire linger where it shouldn't - and what does it mean for me to guard my heart today?
