When someone you love is struggling, what can you do when you cannot fix the situation? Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is carry them to God in prayer.

In 1 Samuel 12:23, Samuel refuses to stop praying for people who have ignored his advice and made painful choices. His example shows us that prayer is not about controlling another person’s life. It is about placing them into God’s care when we have reached the limits of what we can do.

Today’s 5-minute Christian devotional explores the difference between carrying someone in worry and carrying them in prayer. You’ll also hear the moving story of a Salvationist who knelt on the muddy floor of a bar to pray for a man whose life would later be transformed.

Who is one person you can carry deliberately to God today?

Subscribe for a new 5-Min Daily Devotional each day as we explore Scripture, prayer and practical Christian faith for everyday life.
